In Alabama, Call the Family Services Divison of the Alabama Department of Human Resources at 334-242-9500
Contact the Alabama Dept. of Human Resources (DHR) office in the county where the child lives.
Law Enforcement should also be notified in the jurisdiction where the abuse occurred.
After business hours, log onto www.ctf.state.al.us and click the link for "after hours" DHR contact numbers and contact local Law Enforcement.
Be a Nurturing Parent! Kids need to know they are LOVED and special and capabale of following their dreams!
Help a friend, neighbor or relative! Being a parent is NOT easy. Offer a helping hand!
Help yourself! When you feel overwhelmed, take a time out. It will be okay! Don't take it out on your kids!
If your baby cries and you get overly frustrated, DO NOT SHAKE THE BABY! It can result in severe injury or Death!
Get involved! Ask your community leaders, clergy, library, and schools to develop programs and services to meet the needs of healthy children and family!
Volunteer at a local child abuse prevention program! For information about volunteering opportunities call:
REPORT SUSPECTED ABUSE OR NEGLECT! If you have reason to believe a child has been or may be harmed, please call your local department of Children and Family services or your local police department!
